TheGalapagos National Park (Ecuador),
is an area of natural preservation of Ecuador, located on the islands that give it its name, the Galapagos Archipelago. The islands were discovered in 1535, when the ship carrying the Bishop of Panama, Fray Tomas de Berlanga, deviated from his route when he went from Panama to Peru. Charles Darwin visited the archipelago in 1835. The endemic fauna includes several species of invertebrates, reptiles and birds, including the Galapagos tortoise, marine and land iguanas, the Galapagos cormorant and 13 species of finch-of-Darwin.....

é uma área de preservação natural do Equador, localizada nas ilhas que lhe dão o nome, o arquipélago de Galápagos As ilhas foram descobertas em 1535, quando o navio que levava o bispo do Panamá, frei Tomás de Berlanga, se desviou de sua rota quando vinha do Panamá em direção ao Peru, Charles Darwin visitou o arquipélago em 1835. A fauna endêmica conta com várias espécies de invertebrados, répteis e aves, incluindo a tartaruga-das-galápagos, iguanas marinhos e terrestres, o cormorão-das-galápagos e 13 espécies de tentilhão-de-Darwin, além do único pinguim a viver em latitudes equatoriais, o pinguim-das-galápagos.
